Product Development Specialist



Job Summary:

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, the Product Development Specialist works to shepherd new product concepts from idea generation to market launch. This role is highly collaborative both within areas of the marketing department and across other business units as impacted by potential products. This position entails close collaboration with Marketing Research to determine industry trends and customer desires through data gathering and analysis.

 

Essential Functions:Create, produce, test, and implement products based on documented research and client feedback.Collaborate closely with the Product Development Manager and internal and external stakeholders to develop effective products that meet practical, conceptual, regulatory, and budgetary constraints.Participate in the marketing and promotion of current and future products.Assist in the justification and promotion of products and product concepts to senior staff and other internal clients.Assist in developing metrics to track and report return on investment for products.Collaborate with ASA’s compliance function on a regular basis.

Qualifications:5+ years experience is required in product development, higher education, or financial product and service marketing. Bachelor’s degree with a major in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, English, other related field preferred, or equivalent work experienced.MBA or master’s degree preferred. The ideal candidate will be creative, innovative and diplomatic with strong project management and interpersonal skills. Record of success in research, development, testing and implementation of products required. Possess the ability to work on multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality projects and products that meet specifications and are delivered on time and under budget. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills are essential as is a dedication to teamwork, negotiation, and customer service.
