Market Intelligence Team Leader - Financial Services Industry Deloitte Services LP ("Deloitte Services") provides a wide variety of internal support services to Deloitte LLP and its subsidiaries ("the Deloitte U.S. Firms") and its people. Deloitte Services is comprised of Operations, Financial Support Services, Information Technology, Marketing & Communications, Human Resources and more. As with all the businesses within the Deloitte U.S. Firms, a core set of competencies is associated with each of these channels. An overall understanding of quality client service, experience in working on multifunctional teams and across multiple geographies, a strong business acumen and the instinct to think and act globally are essential for advancement within Deloitte Services.   The Market Intelligence Team Leader will lead an analytic staff charged with enhancing the firm's understanding of financial services and real estate industry segments and specific companies.  This team develops presentations that identify and assess the implications of trends and issues affectingindustry segments as well as initiatives companies have under way or may launch to address them.  The purpose of the presentations are to inform and support operational and client planning as well as business development activities of the Financial Services and Real Estate practices.   Specifically, presentations provide partners and professionals a competitive edge in: attaining new business; retaining and expanding services at established clients; and making practice resource decisions.  This position plays a critical role in representing Deloitte Intelligence to Financial Services practice leadership; aligning resources with practice priorities; assigning projects; reviewing deliverables; and assessing internal customer satisfaction with intelligence services.  This position requires occasional travel.  Preferred location is New York City.   Duties and Responsibilities:   - Plays a key role in supporting the strategic planning process of the Financial Services practice.  Initiates and/or participates in meetings with industry practice leaders, regional managing partners, and others to formulate intelligence program goals and objectives that support practice management and business development. - Oversees the preparation of oral and written presentations.  Ensures proper scope, focus, consistency, and quality--data accuracy and comprehensiveness, structure, logic, and visual presentation--of intelligence products and services.  Reports are noteworthy for their insight and their analysis of implications of trends and developments for the Financial Services industries, their clients, and Deloitte service opportunities. - Reviews project plans to ensure proper scope, focus, and incorporation of appropriate data from all relevant sources. Integrates vendor-provided elements, third-party interviews, and publicly available information in research projects.  - Recruits, trains and develops team of intelligence professionals who craft innovative research deliverables that support practice leadership decision making.  Delegates assignments and supervises all components of the intelligence cycle including collection, processing, analysis, review and distribution. - Defines team and individual performance objectives in accordance with Industry and intelligence discipline goals.    - Manages and prioritizes demand for research. - Develops internal and external network of experts.  Attends industry meetings and conferences to elicit information about issues and opportunities facing financial services entities, including companies operating in the banking, finance, insurance, securities, investment management, and real estate sectors. - Develops and maintains annual budget for intelligence team.  Manages team within budget.Required Experience and Qualifications:  - A minimum of 6 years experience demonstrating knowledge, expertise, and achievement in Financial Services market research, competitive intelligence, or strategic planning;               - A minimum of 12 years of work experience demonstrating superior writing, analytical and oral presentation skills - preferably on one or more components of the Financial Services industry (e.g. banking, finance, securities, insurance, etc); - A minimum of 6 years of experience in organizational and marketplace analysis, preferably focused on Financial Services markets; - Prior management experience of teams of 4+ people; Demonstrated achievement leading talented professionals in demanding, fast-paced environments; - Superior project management abilities;  - Bachelors Degree; MBA or other advanced degree is required; - Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based programs; - Writing samples may be requested  About DeloitteDeloitte refers to one or more of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss Verein, and its network of member firms, each of which is a legally separate and independent entity.
