Magazine Designer

EXPERIENCED, self-motivated MAGAZINE DESIGNER wanted to join our small, busy, friendly, and fun DESIGN STUDIO in northern Virginia. Our focus is on association magazines. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in solving design problems that can be quite abstract and arcane. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, conceptualize quickly and work well within a close-knit group of creatives. CLIENT-SERVICE SKILLS ARE ESSENTIAL, and a sense of humor is mandatory, along with efficient work habits and a passion for design. Must thoroughly know Adobe CS3—especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. IF YOU DON'T MEET THIS CRITERIA, PLEASE DON'T APPLY. Attention to deadlines and ability to work within them is essential. Creative opportunities abound in our studio and we are looking for a sharp, seasoned designer who is up to the challenge of a fast-paced, multi-client, creatively-rewarding work environment. We offer a good salary range and great benefits, including health coverage, 401(k) plan, paid vacation, and a casual and fun workspace. Please respond with your resumé, portfolio (or a link to samples of your work) and a brief description of why we should want you. We are looking for a full-time, fully-interested designer. It's a 40-hour week, we don't require much overtime and hours are somewhat flexible.
