MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR/ACCOUNT DIRECTOR

FUNCTION:

This candidate will function as the senior representative of the agency for a financial services clients.  The person will be ultimately responsible for managing the account in its entirety including managing the account’s growth, profitability, and relationship with the client. He/she will bear final responsibility for the agency’s recommendations and performance.

 

REQUIRED SKILL SETS:

· Leadership – Act as and be perceived as the leader of the account by client and agency alike. She/he should be viewed as the person in charge of running the business and responsible for developing a sense of collaboration among people who work on the account.

· Client Relationship – Responsibility for management of a positive relationship with clients at all levels across various levels and departments at the agency. Candidate should know the client’s business so well that client views candidate’s input as essential to any business decision he/she has to make.

· Financial Responsibility – Overall responsibility for profitable management of the account which includes budgeting, control of expenses, and accurate income forecasting.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1)  Client Service

a) Responsible for the organization and development of those accounts directly assigned to him/her.  Keeps senior agency management advised on a continuing basis of major projects or changes in strategic directions of his/her business.

b) Keeps well informed on all accounts’ activities, anticipating trouble (internal or external) or client dissatisfaction, and takes steps to remedy any such situation.

c) Responsible for the profit contributions of his/her accounts and is alert to opportunities to build additional business from his/her clients.  Is responsible for the negotiation of fees and contractual agreements between agency and client.  Controls costs, such as account handling expenses, write-offs and other concessions involved in account service.

d) Contributes to the formulation of advertising, marketing and research plans for clients.

 

2) Agency Service

a) Candidate will act as the chief administrator of his/her group.  As such, he/she is responsible for all of the personnel on his/her team including mentoring, training, career development, salary recommendations, annual job performance evaluations, vacation schedules, as well as ensuring a harmonious working relationship with each other, with other members of the agency and with the client.

b) Effectively manage the agency’s resources and relationships with other departments in the agency.  As a member of agency management, the candidate is expected to be concerned with overall agency management problems and their solutions. His/her counsel will be occasionally sought out on problems affecting areas of business outside his/her immediate account responsibility.

c) Participate in and contribute to new business activities of the agency wherever appropriate.
