Lead Developer

The Lead Developer position is responsible for J2EE Software Engineer work and performing highly complex programming tasks to support the business systems of Yellow Book USA. The position also requires managing the development efforts of other developers assigned to a given project.

In addition, the position requires the ability to perform complex system analysis, design, and documentation. Persons filling the position are expected to lead team meetings and providing technical guidance and leadership to lower classified personnel.

• Persons filling this position should have a four-year college degree, or equivalent experience.
• Persons filling this position should have 3 or more years of professional experience as a programmer and possess strong organizational, team and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Creativity, individual initiative, excellent problem solving skills, ingenuity, integrity, self-discipline, excellent oral and written communication skills, customer sensitivity are attributes that are essential to the performance of assigned duties in complex or new projects
• Ability to work independently and creatively with a minimum of direct supervision.
• Ability to identify and create plans to resolve issues.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with others and utilizing persuasion and teamwork relationships.
• Ability to plan, organize, implement, identify problems and resolutions, adjust, evaluate work performed by self in a complex and dynamic work environment.
• Ability to act as a leader within a team and motivate other individuals to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to display proficiency in the use of complex SQL DML/DDL usage.
• Must be able to display proficiency in complex component design and development.
• Must be able to display proficiency in new multi-platform programming languages and environments.
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in three or more of the following skills: JAVA, J2EE(EJB3.0), JSF, JSP, HTML, XML, or Oracle PL-SQL.
