Junior Web Designer
Barneys New York, the world’s leading luxury retailer, is committed to providing the best of everything: merchandise, customer service, and innovative people with creative ideas. We are currently seeking a Junior Web Designer in our corporate office.
Responsibilities: Create and edit graphics and HTML for e-mails, homepages, banner campaigns, e-mail newsletters, promotional materials, marketing landing pages and site contentTraffic all marketing materials to appropriate third party channelsMaintain archives, digital art files, and production materials for all online campaignsWork with advertising department to maintain consist company look and feelDevelop new graphic templates to enhance the e-mail and banner programsReport on projects in the works, discussing creative decisions and scheduling to maximize effective design and productivity to consistently meet deadlinesContribute ideas in the development of new materials or campaigns and track changes in the marketplace and samples of interesting graphics and marketing techniques for future consideration
Qualifications: BFA in Graphic Design Strong grasp of current web design and Web 2.0 principlesSolid grasp of typographyExtremely organized and motivated with an ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlinesProficiency in web design tools including, but not limited to Photoshop, Illustrator, and Quark Knowledge of HTML required, with an ability to write HTML by hand and utilize WYSIWYG editorsProficiency in Flash Proficiency in Microsoft Office
