Internal Communications Specialist
Our client is a global financial services company based in NY.
The Communications Manager is an integral part of the corporate communications team, with primary responsibility for managing print and electronic employee communications as well as assisting with external communications and special projects. We are looking for an exceptional writer/editor with strong business sense and practical expertise. The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to:
- Research, understand, translate and educate employees about business strategy and issues through the creation of compelling, relevant messages in a variety of formats including articles, letters, presentations and executive speeches.
- Effectively write and edit clear, concise copy for publications and executive communications.
- Think logically and strategically to advance the effectiveness of print and online outlets as vehicles to reinforce company messages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, creativity, strong interpersonal skills, and project management experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet targeted deadlines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Day-to-day management of print and electronic publications, including development of story ideas, scheduling, assigning, writing and editing articles for employee publications, executive letters, memos, intranet content and special projects.
- Coordination and management of photo shoots for internal and external publications, including selecting, editing and organizing photos and writing captions.
- Assisting on special projects, such as ongoing intranet refinement and redesign, including researching best practices and brainstorming new ideas.
- Proofing reading various internal and external publications and intranet content.
-Consulting with internal clients on special projects and providing assistance with the business lines employee communication initiatives.
QualificationsBachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in communications or journalism or other related field plus 2-4 years experience in a related field with success managing communications. Must have a proven track record for superb written and oral communications; excellent proofreading and editing skills; a keen attention to detail; and the ability to prioritize and manage a variety of tasks simultaneously. Must be a professional, creative, extremely organized, enthusiastic and flexible team player, who can work independently.
