In search of Marketing Director to join our team!

TechTeam Goverment Solutions, Inc., a leading IT solutions company that provides IT infrastructure support, information assurance, managed services, and applications services support to DoD, federal, state, and local governments, is currently in search of an Marketing Director to join our team at our headquarters in Chantilly, VA. 

 

The Marketing Director is responsible for market intelligence, industry analysis and press relations, development of collateral and marketing materials, developing and maintaining the external website, organizing and participating in events, managing industry association participation, executing teaming partner outreach efforts, and business development support.  This position reports to the VP of Global Strategy and Marketing and includes some global responsibilities as well.

 

Global Level Responsibilities

• Work as a part of the global marketing team to develop global level plans and initiatives.

• Lead select global level initiatives.

 

Regional Level Responsibilities– Government Solutions

• Analyze customer feedback, sales data, the market, and competitors

• Design, implement, and maintain the marketing plan

• Work with industry analysts and the press to optimize company positioning and visibility

• Develop or localize case studies, presentations, brochures, datasheets, white papers, and other collateral

• Develop and maintain external website

• Organize events and participate in major events, positioning TechTeam in an optimal manner

• Manage TechTeam participation in industry associations (e.g. AFCEA, PSC, ITAA), including management of event calendar

• Execute outreach to current and potential teaming partners, establishing strategic partner relationships

• Pro-actively support Business Development with communication initiatives such as workshops, events, seminars, etc.

• Partner with Business Development and Operations teams to solicit ideas, validate plans and ensure alignment

• Leverage external communication agencies, market research agencies, etc.

• Manage marketing budget, including working with partners for joint events and/or specific marketing actions, thereby sharing costs

• Drive continuous improvement in marketing activities, tracking results and adjusting approach to maximize the return on the marketing investment

 

The candidate selected will have 5-10 years' marketing experience in the Federal Government professional services environment preferably in an IT services company with global focus; demonstrated achievement in developing and executing the complete marketing mix including PR, web marketing, analyst relations, sponsoring and promotional events; manage within budget and on time; measure ROI.  He/She will have excellent communication skills, concise and accurate information in written and verbal formats; spoken and written communication, drafts reports, runs and controls meetings within project teams.

 

The ideal candidate has the following profile:

• BA / BS; MBA preferred

• 10 years of work experience in marketing in a Federal Government professional service environment

• Ability to communicate effectively

 

The successful candidate should be able to convince others within the organization through expertise.

• Autonomy and initiative to drive his/her projects and virtual teams forward 

• Management experience, can motivate a team and help each team member in terms of personal development while providing direction

• Analysis and synthesis, and based on these able to make the correct decisions

• Project Management, strong follow-up of individual tasks in a well organized and structured manner, thereby able to handle multiple interfaces and projects simultaneously

• High standards of professional ethics and integrity

• Creative, comes up with concepts that are ‘out-of-the-box’

• Team player, able to build an open, direct relationship with colleagues from other departments and affiliated companies

• Hands-on and result oriented to deliver required objectives on-time and within stated requirements 

• Excellent presenter and communicator, comfortable interacting with individuals at all levels

• Flexible and open-minded in order to operate successfully in a continuously changing and fast moving environment

• Able to travel 10 to 20% of the time.
