Health Actuary

Health Actuary opening in Scenic New York. Perform financial projections and actuarial analyses for multiple projects or complex assignments. Initiate, organize and analyze actuarial research and develop actuarial assumptions. Establish insurance rates, rate structures, and rating systems for groups and individual categories; determine appropriate claim reserves and related liabilities, forecast financial results; develop reports to various internal and external entities; and participates in related activities and projects. Act as mentor and oversee the work of others. Specific responsibilities: prepare actuarial statements of opinion for rate and product fillings; recommend regional or product line profitability targets; ensure pricing is consistent with established targets for those business segments priced in actuarial; develop rates, rating factors and rate filings; maintains rating formulas and models; recommend reserves for blocks of business and in total; initiate and organize analyses to support recommendations; play key role in the development and/or support of financial plans, reforecasts, and other financial projections; develop, plan, and manage actuarial projects relating to complex issues and trends, coordinating with several different disciplines and staff; identify, develop and manage long range departmental or divisional goals consistent with corporate goals. FSA with a minimum of 10 years experience in health actuarial science. Salary $open.
