Edelman: Digital Public Affairs INTERN

Edelman’s Digital Public Affairs team consists of communications professionals who are experts in navigating the ever-changing online space and integrating online efforts with traditional media and advocacy efforts. We develop integrated online communications strategies that enable our clients to achieve their goals and objectives by listening to, understanding and identifying opportunities to participate in online discussions. From Web sites, podcasts and viral videos, to issues advocacy, grassroots and blogger relations, our award-winning team implicitly understands how to shape messages for online audiences and develop tailored campaigns aimed at achieving public policy objectives. Whether it is a first foray into the online space or an opportunity to enhance a client’s existing presence, we help to effectively advocate for our client’s issues.

 

Edelman's Digital Public Affairs team is seeking students and recent graduates who have strong technical skills who can thrive in an entrepreneurial and high-energy environment. Your range of skills will grow with your interests and ability.

As an intern you will have the opportunity to:
*Copy write for web sites and blogs
*Web site architecture planning and some web site page building
*Write reports on e-mails and monthly reports on blog spaces
*Blog and Social Network Research and Monitoring

The Intern is responsible for assisting with implementing and monitoring projects within a specific set of accounts under the direction of the supervisor. The Interns works closely with and supports the needs of the account teams.

An Intern must be able to work effectively with a variety of account service staff within a specific set of accounts. S/he must have good organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines. S/he must have solid knowledge of MS Office Suite and superior verbal and written communication skills. The Intern is generally someone who has recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and is looking for entry-level experience in public relations. S/he must demonstrate the ability to become a strong writer. Familiarity with the public relations discipline through past coursework or other internships is desirable.

 

To tell you a little about our internship program:

-we have about 30 interns at any given time

-the duration of the internship is a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months

-interns are paid $9.00 per hour, plus overtime

-most of our interns are post-graduate and work a full-time schedule (Mon-Fri 9:00-5:30)
