Job Overview:
The Director of ProductManagement will provide overall project strategic direction and leads the teamprocess that insures there is a seamless transition from strategy to execution withproduct design, development, and research services within the agency. He/shewill be responsible for product planning, product development, product launch,product life cycle management, and product portfolio management.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate internal and external business, creative andtechnical resources to define project objectives, tasks and deliverables forweb based projects
• Lead all aspects of managing the project managementdepartment such as budgeting, staffing, coaching, development, mentoring, andreporting
• Manage, build, and provide positive leadership for the teamof Project Managers to successfully accomplish the goals set forth for themagainst business needs
• Build strong client relationships and appropriately manageclient expectations
• Improving project delivery standards, methodology, tools andprocess
• Ensuring overall direction and management of projects isconsistent with corporate strategy and project delivery is satisfactory forinternal customers
• Providing regular feedback to senior management regardingthe health of the corporate project portfolio, project status, issues anddepartmental needs
• Create business and functional requirements documentation
• Shares knowledge and best practices with team; facilitatesproject review sessions at the close of each project
• Provide regular team leadership and constructive feedback on allaccounts
• Develop, monitor and modify the business unit project managementdepartment staffing strategies and plans, including: team composition, teamperformance, skills, training and mentoring
• Develop, implement and monitor quality standards across all creativedepartment artifacts and deliverables
• Continually improve Project Management Department methods, problemsolving models and best practices
• Proactively manage the success of production scope, schedules andbudgets
• Engage & inform practice leads from Media & Marketing,Technology, Research and Analytics, Usability, and Quality Assurancedepartments to maximize results and ensure client and user satisfaction
• Support and lead human resource initiatives with a focus on performancemanagement & recruitment
• Understand, embrace, and communicate corporate mission and values
Qualifications:
• A proven track record of managing multiple projectssimultaneously, building appropriate processes and tools, delivering results?
• Familiarity with metrics, operations and the completeproduct lifecycle?
• Excellent organizational skills. Focus and attention todetail are a must?
The ideal candidate will have thefollowing: • 7+ years of experience managing complexweb programs for large corporations,• Web production, design, and writingexperience in a large corporate or online agency environment, • Strong interpersonal, leadership andcommunication skills• Mature judgment, stability, integrityand a seasoned general management mentality. • 5+ years of project managementexperience,• Highly responsive with a strongdedication to client service, • Extremely detail oriented and organized,• Ability to prioritize and multitaskacross several projects with competing deadlines, • Team player able to proactivelycommunicate with business and technical partners
