Director of Human ResourcesA division of Omnicom, Doremus is a well-established business-to-business global advertising agency. We are a high-energy, collaborative team of creative, interactive, media and account managers who are focused on delivering truly integrated and interactive global communication services for our premier clients.A leadership opportunity requiring the Director of Human Resources to guide and manage the Human Resources disciplines for Doremus’ domestic operations. This role is the principal representative of the agency and therefore responsible for the seamless management of a full range of responsibilities including Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Compensation Planning, and Training & Development.In the first six months, the incumbent will be responsible for developing a strategic plan on how Human Resources contributes to the overall direction of the agency. Position resides in the New York office, and reports into the CFO/Director of Administration, President and CEO. Role and Responsibilitieso Lead Human Resources operation for 3 offices (150+ employees)o Supervise one direct report (Human Resources Coordinator)o Serve as integral advisor to leadership team and all management relative to best practices, employee relations issues, staffing & retention, compensation, etc.o Responsible for knowledge of current national and local employment lawo Manage recruitment process to ensure effective acquisition of talent at all levelso Direct employee relations function, including proactively identifying and resolving issues and providing creative solutions while utilizing solid knowledge of employment lawo Be an active agent in administering and fostering corporate cultureo Manage annual performance evaluation processo Oversee the management of all aspects of benefits administration which is managed by HR Coordinatoro Point-person for Omnicom for all Human Resources related needs (attend bi-annual Talent and Legal Forums)o Partner with management to address training & development needs; responsible for implementing training & developmento Administer all work-related visas for staffo Oversee agency events and corresponding budget which is managed by HR Coordinator Hiring Credentialso 5 – 10 years of Human Resources management experience (advertising agency experience a plus)o Bachelors degree requiredo Experience managing an HR department at a mid-size companyo Solid knowledge of employment law (knowledge of New York and San Francisco state law a plus)o Experience recruiting for talent at all levels o Proven experience of managing a variety of employee relations issueso Ability to multi-task (able to roll up your sleeves, while also partnering at the most senior level strategically)o Welcoming demeanor, able to make employees at all levels feel comfortable
