Desktop Support Lead

We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Lead who will report to the IT Manager in our New York office. The Desktop Support Lead will be primarily responsible for the quick resolution of tickets escalated from the outsourced Level 1 Help Desk. This role requires hands-on technical experience as well as creativity in supporting our client base. This position is part of a larger IT team that sits in both New York and Austin, TX with responsibility for a new and to-be-implemented worldwide infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide 2nd level technical desktop support of NY support tickets from outsourced Level 1 Help DeskCoordination with desktop support staff in other offices globally, ensuring proper coverage and quick resolutionPrioritizing issues and services requests to ensure adequate staffing and appropriate coverageRelationship management that spans across the team, clients, peers and management. Efficiently monitor ticket queue for requests, and action/resolve in a timely manner within SLA guidelines Escalate problems or issues when requiredHandle installs/moves/adds/changes of PC’s (Windows AND Mac) as well as Cisco VoIP phonesAble to multi-task in a fast paced services environment Maintain NY inventory of all IT hardware and licensed softwareAssist with special projects and other duties, as required
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience2-4 years experience in a corporate environment Highly efficient time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently
· Broad knowledge of PC and Mac hardware, printer and copier hardware, Windows Operating Systems (XP and Vista), Active Directory as it relates to desktop support, Mac OS X, Microsoft Office 2003/2007 suite of applications, Symantec Ghost Solution Suite
· Experience with desktop engineering is a definite plus, including creating and deploying Ghost images and application packagesSkilled in client management with demonstrated ability to establish credibility and trust among diverse client audiencesAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization, as well as across culturesSound judgment and excellent problem-solving skills Ability to work flexible hours as needed, based on the needs of a global organization and client base
