Database Administrator II - Dial Global Radio Networks

 

 

Position Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for the administration and management of clustered MS SQL databases environments and supporting its users and clients.  This individual also will be an integral component in the execution and fulfillment of tasks associated with the ongoing development/maintenance activities at Dial Global Radio Networks  http://www.dial-global.com/.

 

Formal Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree – Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field

 Materials & Equipment Used:

MS SQL and SQL Server

Windows XP

Various database management tools. (Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer, Configuration Manager, Tuning Advisor, and MOM Operator Console.)

 Training or Certifications Preferred:

Certified MS SQL Database Administrator – MCDBA/MCITP

 Work Environment/Physical Activities:

Travel as needed; anticipated to be less than 5%

 

Position Task Statements (Job Duties):

1.      Installation and configuration of MS-SQL databases.

2.      Build database environments for development, quality assurance, reporting, and performance & volume testing in support of product releases.

3.      Maintain existing database environments through the addition and modification of tables and general database schema.

4.      Work with developers to write effective and efficient SQL code.

5.      Development of scripts that automate the database administration tasks.

6.      Perform performance and tuning tasks to improve database functionality and performance.

7.      Enhance and develop the Data Model(s) for readability and functionality.

8.      Manage ongoing data and database maintenance issues including data extraction and loads as well as data reconciliation.

9.      On-call support

1.      Experience in MS SQL DBA practices, including backup, recovery, and performance enhancements

2.      Strong T-SQL and scripting skills

3.      Strong SSRS and SSIS skills

4.      Experience supporting and using DSS/OLTP database tools

6.      System administration of medium to large databases

7.      Data integrity, testing, maintenance experience

8.      Database Replication, Mirroring, and Clustering experience
