News America Marketing requires an Oracle DBA to join its Database Administration group based in Wilton, Ct.

 

The DBA group at NAM supports over 50 databases running releases 8i through 10g.  The databases are used by a variety of custom applications as well as Oracle Financials and Siebel.  Our primary platform is currently Sun Solaris and we use the Oracle Enterprise Manager tools to manage our environment.

 

This position will be involved in all aspects of the support function provided by the DBA group and offers a great opportunity for learning and career growth in a dynamic environment.

 

Strong Oracle Database Administration skills over a period of between two and five years and covering at least 9i and 10g.

Experience using the RMAN backup and recovery tool.

Sun Solaris experience or a comparable Unix operating system.

 Experience using the Oracle Enterprise Manager tools.

Any experience of Oracle RAC.

Any experience of Oracle in a Linux environment.

Any experience of supporting Oracle Applications.

 

This individual should possess strong communication skills and be able to work with other individuals regardless of their area of technical expertise.  A strong drive to succeed and the ability to work both independently and as part of a group are also very important
