DRTV Producer

Responsibilities: Creating budgets for new jobs, revisions, and overages working closely with the Executive Producer.Controlling / monitoring the approved budget and allocating resources as it applies to the job.  Working closely with the Executive Producer and the Key Department Heads (Director, Art Department, Stylist, Director of Photography), in regards to their department’s budget.Closely monitoring the job with the Account Supervisors and Director.  When creative changes warrant additional money, ensure overages are approved.Building, creating and establish positive relationships with freelance crew.Hiring, supervising and providing leadership to the crew attached to the job.  Negotiating rates as necessary.Creating Independent Contractor Agreements or addendums for appropriate crew members as required.Hiring vendors and negotiating rates for equipment and services.Organizing and participating in all creative meetings (Kick-off, client, script, graphics) with the Creative Director, Account Supervisor, Client(s), Director and Graphic Designers.Organizing and Implementing Casting, to include casting specs, selecting casting agent with the Director, communication with the Account Supervisor and the client(s), and casting call backs.  Working closely with the Executive Producer, Signatory, and talent agents to negotiate and create talent contracts.Provide leadership for the Production team – Production Coordinator and Production Assistants.  Ensure that the Production Book, Call Sheets, Purchase Orders, Petty Cash and payroll are all completed per Respond2’s guidelines.Ensure that the job is wrapped per R2 standards.  This includes the wrap book, actualizing the budget and recapping/reviewing the job with the Executive Producer.Planning, Organizing and Participating in the Pre-Production Meeting.  This is a meeting with the client, Account Supervisor, and Key crew members the day before the shoot.Troubleshooting anytime during the pre-production process, and especially during the shoot. This could include resolving crew or talent problems that may arise, faulty equipment, unfavorable weather conditions, etc.  Whatever may come up – the Producer needs to possess the experience, good judgment, and decision-making skills to solve the situation.

 

General responsibilities for Producer cont’d:Working closely with the Account Supervisor attached to the job.  This includes establishing, maintaining and monitoring the timelines and all other aspects of the job and client expectations are being met (within the established working budget).Working closely with the Director to ensure their creative vision for the job is being met and supported by Production (within the established working budget).Ongoing communication and meetings as appropriate with the Director, Art Director, Stylist, Director of Photography and other Keys, to ensure the Director’s vision of the job is being met (within the established working budget).Maintain ongoing communication with the Executive Producer to ensure the key elements of the job are on track and running smoothly.  This includes the working budget, talent contracts, and timeline.Organizing and participating in the location scout.Organize location scouting and selection working with the Location Scout, Director and the Account Supervisor.  Negotiate location fee with the home or business owner.  Manage all the logistics pertaining to the location during the shoot and any follow-up.  Work closely with the Production Coordinator to ensure all the necessary equipment and vendors are in place for the shoot, with all corresponding agreements and estimates in place.Work closely with the Production Coordinator and the Location Manager to ensure all the permitting for the location is in place and all location logistics are planned.Work closely with the Production Coordinator to ensure all travel (air and ground transportation) is in place and all parties have thorough communication of their travel plans.Review and approve the crew payroll and crew invoices. Review and approve all invoices from vendors.Review and approve the petty cash and sales reports.Work closely with the Assistant Director and the Director to ensure the shot list is “realistic” with the budgeted schedule.Assist the Account Supervisor with managing the client expectations on the shoot.  Provide a communication link between the client/account supervisor and the Director during the shoot.Work closely with the Assistant Director to ensure all “work rules” are observed during the shoot.Work closely with the Assistant Director in establishing call times. Ensure the call times are realistic depending on the job responsibilities.Supervise post-production as producer.  Understanding of post production process. 



Requirements

Must have DRTV experience

Must have 5-7 years Producer/Production experience

Bachelors Degree in Related field highly desired
