Computer Operator

The purpose of this position is to coordinate and oversee all current and planned Data Center activities at the Cedar Rapids Facility in accordance with established policy and procedure guidelines. This position is intended to be the senior data center operations representative at the Cedar Rapids facility and will provide direct support to the Manager of Data Center Operations on current projects and on-going data center activities.

1. Monitor the technical environment to detect and escalate technical problems as required.
2. Setup and execute computer processes and procedures as defined by daily, weekly and monthly schedules.
3. Manage day-to-day offsite data storage program.
4. Maintain tape library scratch pool at proper tape count levels.
5. Monitor scheduled backups and confirm their successful completion.
6. Monitor Disk Utilization of production servers.
8. Print and distribute reports as required.

Flexibility is a must.

Significant areas of knowledge required to perform this job include: Windows and UNIX operating system skills including general navigation, file management and startup / shutdown procedures. MS Office Skills including Outlook, Word and Excel. Employee must have flexibility with schedule. 1 – 2 years job related experience required.
