Closeout Buyer

BI is an established, growing and innovative business improvement company with a nationally recognized commitment to quality. Our Merchandise Group is seeking a talented Closeout Buyer to join their team in our Indianapolis, Indiana office.  The Buyer will be responsible for developing and executing diverse merchandise assortments utilizing current and new suppliers.  Merchandise categories include but are not limited to electronics, cameras, sporting goods, toys, household appliances, lawn and garden, hardware, apparel, house wares, and home and office.

 

Responsibilities of this position will include:Develop dynamic weekly opportunity buy assortments Maintain and develop collaborative relationships with internal business partners Manage Vendor and Supplier selection process, relationship and terms of sale negotiations Merchandise margin performance Creative problem solving Develop marketing strategies

 

 

This position requires an undergraduate degree in Merchandising, Marketing or Business. Additional qualifications include:Seven years of sourcing, purchasing, and managing merchandise assortments Proven history of success and continued career advancement Thorough knowledge of the closeout market E-commerce merchandising experience Strong and varied supplier relationships Highly effective negotiation skills Passion for excellence, exceeding goals and customer satisfaction Direct import experience desirable

 

 Qualified candidates will also be proficient in Word, Excel, and Power Point.
