Associate Director / Director – YPClicks
YELLOWPAGES.COM, a wholly owned subsidiary of AT&T, is looking for an Associate Director to Director level Product Manager to work in our growing Search Engine Marketing (SEM) department. We are willing to consider highly skilled, exceptionally talented Senior Product Managers with a proven track record ready to demonstrate the ability and drive to step up into this critical position.
Reporting to the Executive Director for SEM, the Roles and Responsibilities include: • Directly manage all aspects of the YPClicks product line. This involves both intensely hands-on execution of duties as well as strategic planning. If you have not defined from cradle to grave, launched from end-to-end, major product line rollouts with significant revenue attached – this is not the job for you. If you don’t thrive in a highly demanding, highly visible job role, this is again not the job for you. • YPClicks is our one-stop Search Engine Marketing (SEM) solution for local and national advertisers, operating at massive scale. Think managing multiple sets of campaigns for one company is challenging with all the complexities and variables today’s search engine industry demands? Try taking on this role with hundreds of thousands of campaigns, tens of thousands of companies, and $100MM+ revenue responsibility attached. • Work with all major search engine partners (Google, Yahoo!, MSN, etc.) and vendors to define requirements, build deliverables, and drive search engine clicks to our advertiser’s websites. • Evaluate, recommend and implement product enhancements, bidding strategies, search engine optimizations, and new product concepts based on market/industry demand. • Work with multiple sales channels across all states, channel delivery and performance groups, cross functional groups, and other SEM product managers to develop and deliver a constantly improving and expanding YPClicks product line. • Evaluate large, complex data sets to analyze click-delivery rates, cost, and other SEM factors to manage the product’s financial performance. Working with the Executive Director, business analysts, and other product managers, Optimize and Recommend changes to the current bidding strategy and algorithms. • The Associate Director / Director for YPClicks will play a lead role in product design, training, vendor management, and roll-outs with the sales channels to grow the business. Stay abreast of industry trends and make adaptations to the product as necessary to maintain its competitive advantage. • Execute all duties and strategic assignments given by executive management or leadership, and collaborate on pricing strategies and business models that maximize product profitability and performance over the product lifecycle.
Skills and Characteristics: • You MUST have personally defined all the requirements – not “helped”, not “some”, YOU personally – all the specs, P&L analysis, forecasts, models, roll-out strategies, etc – from cradle to grave at least one major product line launch, preferably more. Project management does not count, sales and marketing support does not count. Technology related product management is the only thing that will get you in the door. • An energetic, highly driven, can-do attitude! Team player who takes strategic direction well, collaborates with others, and brings a positive attitude to the group. • 4+ years product management experience minimum – preferably with a strong search engine background but willing to consider candidates with strong internet, ecommerce, or pure technology related experience. Willing to consider an extremely strong, talented Senior Product Manager level candidate who absolutely knows they are ready to step up. Be ready to explain exactly why in your interview. • Working knowledge of performance-based online advertising preferred, but willing to train an eager-to-learn candidate. • Strong proficiency with MS Access and/or other SQL databases at a user level – huge bonus if you ever used to or still know how to write/construct SQL queries. • Strong extraction and analysis skills of data from databases, online and offline reports, and other data sources. Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret numbers into meaningful conclusions/recommendations. • Quick-to-learn, extremely sharp, and motivated to constantly grow and learn. Entrepreneurial approach with ability to work independently within broad parameters and strategic vision. • BA/BS degree; MBA preferred. • Occasional travel as required to fulfill job duties
