Local.com (an Irvine-based local search engine), is looking for an entrepreneurial team player with the spirit and desire to envision change and see it happen. As Local.com increasingly shifts our focus to locally centered search design we are seeking an A+ Developer with a true “start-up” vision and mentality. This is a rare chance to become a part of a strategic team working diligently to rapidly enhance its product offering in a local search market full of opportunity!
The Developer will be a part of and report into the Engineering Team which oversees the developmental execution of Local.com’s local search experience section of the site. This position will be responsible for working with other Developers, the Database Team, and the QA Team to deliver superior site code in order to achieve product requirements.
The Developers responsibilities include:
Proficiency in developing standards-compliant, cross browser, high performance code using modern development techniques. Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines are a must. This job requires a balance between multiple, concurrent projects and their production timelines.Develop new applications and support existing applications.Perform functional performance and unit testing as part of code submission to QA.Track application deployments and implementation in a scheduled release environment.Perform Site and Application maintenance as necessary.
Job Qualifications / Candidate must:
Have 2-3 years experience with ASP.NET/VB.NET/C#, .NET Framework, Web Services, Server Controls, XML, SQL Server programming and SQL Advanced Stored ProceduresMust have strong familiarity with hand-coded, W3C compliant HTML, XHTML and CSS Strong demonstration of experience with Web 2.0 Technologies which include: AJAX, Javascript, DHTML, JSON, XML / WebServices and Flash.
· Possess a passion for clean code and clear naming conventions.Should be able to distinguish and understand the difference between liquid, elastic, and rigid CSS file layouts. Should be experienced in cross-browser CSS and JavaScript for visual display.Experience in rich “Web 2.0” centric technologies (ie- weblogs, wikis, social networking, RSS feeds, and API’s) are considered a strong advantage. Thorough understanding of web technologies and trends and best of breed application solutions. Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a Team environment.Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work independently. Experience establishing, organizing and adhering to a design process.
