Burson-Marsteller is seeking an Associate with a solid background in Industry Analyst Relations. Main role is to leverage existing relationships and grow new ones with target industry analysts for the benefit of our client, providing liaison between client and analysts. Internally, work with Industry Analyst Relations (IAR) team director(s) and manager(s) to provide proactive and reactive support. Knowledge of the technology sector is important, including some vertical markets and software applications. Some analyst relations experience is required such as outreach to support events and announcements, and/or recommending strategies and tactics to support client analyst relations objectives. Excellent writing, project management and teamwork skills are essential. Experience working with large, global companies is a plus.
Responsibilities
Drive the analyst relations program to meet client objectives for measurable results, including sharing positive opinions with customers in sales situations, leveraging analyst influence for marketing and sales purposes, and positive inclusions of the client in appropriate analyst reports, articles and other publications. This translates to proactive thinking on action items to support client business objectives.Develop working relationships with analysts, and move forward on tactical execution of analyst relations programs. This includes contacting analysts to conduct perception audits and providing first drafts of findings.Understand who the targeted analysts are, and what they're saying about the marketplace and our client; maintaining contact with analyst firm to monitor and understand analyst staffing changes; tracking new analysts via media quotes, competitor Web site postings and releases with analyst quotes. Understand the client's space by reading analyst reports and other coverage, and providing recommendations based upon analyst opinions and projections. Also, work with IAR Practice Managing Director to leverage Burson's relationship with Gartner appropriately.Develop IAR plans based upon an understanding of the scope of influence of each analyst.Recommend and execute analyst initiatives to ensure analyst understanding of and support for progress such as major announcements, wins, partnerships, etc., including targeting industry conferences and events. This will include analyst list qualification based upon knowledge of analyst firms and analyst coverage areas, scheduling briefings, creating background materials for spokespeople, staffing briefings, capturing meeting notes, and conducting follow-up activities.
