Accountant

Accountant needed for Finance Department within Marketing/ Media / Advertising industry.  This individual will be working along with a current accountant.  The candidate needs to be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and be team oriented.


Position description:  

- You will work to help maintain, organize and facilitate all aspects within financial, accounting, and bookkeeping responsibilities such as:


  - balancing and keeping accounts updated


  - payable and receivables

  - invoicing and tearsheet(s) coordination


  - collections of outstanding

  - credit card reconciliation

  - monitor currency exchange rates to USD


- Your duties will be to work along with team of minimum 1 other finance / accounting professional in our finance department within our NY location and an external CPA.


- Correspond with international offices on regular basis.


Additional responsibilities include: 

- Highlight key issues and minimize exposure items that may impact profitability or negative cash flow, actively provide financial advice by studying operational issues; applying financial principles and practices; developing recommendations.- Specific duties include supervision of forecast submissions, tracking of budgets, monthly/yearly close processes, financial review meetings, cash flow projections and account billing and receivables.

-  Prepares monthly statements by collecting data; analyzing and investigating variances; summarizing data, information, and trends.

- Help to prepare state quarterly and annual statements by assembling data.


- Manages proof of purchase collection from media suppliers and prepares invoices and collects payments in timely fashion from clients.

- Ensure company complies with state and federal tax filing requirements by studying regulations; adhering to requirements; advising management on required actions; calculating quarterly estimated tax payments; assembling data for quarterly and annual tax filings.


- Coordinate and maintain solid, good standing relationships with suppliers, vendors, large media and other offices media services on behalf of clients and agencies US and Worldwide. 
 
Skills/Qualifications: 


- Candidate needs to be deadline-minded, able to positively manage profitability and have a good overall business knowledge.


- Quickbooks 7, Professional Suite knowledge and Sage is a plus


- Needs to have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook is a must 

- Internet Explorer and knowledge of Internet 

- Excellent/Fluent English language is required (oral, written and verbal - need to be fluent)

- Additional languages a plus (German, French, Spanish, Arabic)
