ABOUT THE JOB
Edelman Washington, D.C. seeks a dynamic Account Supervisor to join its Corporate Communications Team’s Environmental Business Strategies practice and focus on environmental and sustainability-related client issues.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: The Account Supervisor must have at least four years' public relations expertise, with people management and budget management experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: The Account Supervisor should have a bachelor’s degree, a solid grasp of public relations in environmental sustainability, political experience and superior research, writing and editing skills. S/he should have the leadership ability to work effectively with and counsel clients’ management and account team. S/he must be highly organized with the ability to manage multiple project deadlines and staff efficiently. Experience in managing one or more environmental issues for Congress, a corporation, NGO, government organization or public relations agency highly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage the overall quality of work on multiple accounts by demonstrating professional and team leadership; be day-to-day client contact
* Supervise junior staff
* Play major role in the research, planning and development of comprehensive public relations programs
* Address client issues thoughtfully and effectively
* Create and manage media outreach strategies including materials development
* Coach company spokespersons
* Copywriting/copyediting
* Evaluate campaign results against objectives
* Assist in growing existing accounts and identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
* Take responsibility for budgetary issues, including account profitability
