The Account Director oversees and manages the overall efficiency and revenue growth, development and profitability of multiple accounts. Recognized by staff and Clients as a comprehensive source of marketing expertise, the Account Director is a model for business leadership. Provides inspiration and strategic vision for the Account Team with a broad, agency-wide responsibility for ensuring all departments work together to provide a consistent level of agency product and service delivery. Account Directors identify Client business needs and assist them in developing successful solutions; they are ultimately responsible for delivering satisfaction and value to Clients and delivering revenue growth to the Agency. The Account Director possesses a sufficient level of financial acumen to manage business decisions associated with the account service team. Uses their keen understanding of the Clients business, including competitive framework, pricing, product, benefits, etc., to marshal Agency resources to positively impact their business. Keeps current on industry trends and stays informed about all aspects of the business in order to effectively market new services to Clients.Possesses excellent written, verbal, presentation and negotiating skills. Provides direction, support and feedback for staff through regular staff meetings, mentoring and sharing general information. Ensures completion of, and approves, annual performance reviews for all staff. Encourages staff retention by identifying development opportunities and career aspirations and, as appropriate adapting roles to ensure the best possible client service and team morale. Advises the Group Account Director regarding financial, resource and account team issues. Provides regular group updates and gives the complete group picture prior to Executive Committee. Provides strategic vision within the account sector; driving the client's strategic agenda and longer term planning at a senior marketing level. Ensures optimum financial performance by staff utilization, billability, overhead and cash flow. Actively shares information and processes across the department in an effort to continually drive identification and incorporation of best practices. Previous experience that enables this individual to communicate and relate to the most senior levels of our client's organization. Well-connected/networked in the Direct Marketing industry and/or related fields. Working knowledge of all the components of DM business having come up through the ranks or by having a particular area of expertise, e.g., Production/Database. Must exhibit leadership and mentoring qualities, with excellent interpersonal, presentation and written skills.Required Experience
