The tax specialists of Deloitte Tax LLP ("Deloitte Tax") have the perspective to help companies understand national, state and local and international tax structures and align the tax function with business objectives.   Description of Position Deloitte Tax LLP is focused on ensuring its tax professionals continually enhance their deep technical knowledge, stay current with the latest technical developments, and have access to resources that enable them to better serve their clients.    Working with practice office Tax professionals, national competency leadership (field & WNT), LTS and Tax Xchange leadership and Tax Xchange National Competency Managers (NCMs), the Tools Manager is responsible for overseeing all areas of tools for Tax Xchange includingthe strategy, identification, collection, editing, development, and national distribution of tax tools and practice aids for Tax Xchange.  This position provides an opportunity to collaborate with some of the top Deloitte Tax WNT, National service line, and practice office partners, principals, and directors.  In addition, this position exposes the tax professional to various aspects of the tax law.       Because Tax Xchange sits in WNT and WNT serves as the center of information for Deloitte Tax, a host of issues are brought to the attention of professionals in Tax Xchange.  This "hub" atmosphere provides a wide-range of experiences that might not otherwise be available in a single practice office.  In addition, Tax Xchange offers a unique opportunity because it is involved with various aspects of the Lead Tax Services service line.  This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop the tools and skills needed for a highly desirable position with Deloitte Tax.   Primary Responsibilities - Work with Tax Xchange leadership to develop and refine the Tax Xchange tools strategy.  "Tools" is one of five main pillars of Tax Xchange.  - Oversee the identification, collection, and organization of existing vendor and internally developed practice aids including leveraging tools inventories in process at LTS level; - Organize forums to obtain practice office input and solicit practice aids needs including analyzing information obtained to date and leveraging data obtained from the Search function on the LTS portal; - Identify appropriate practice aids in response to practice office needs; - Oversee the development of various self-contained practice aids that streamline engagement execution; - Monitor changes in tax law, current developments, and Tax Xchange Quarterly items and assess the need for related practice aids; - Anticipate and plan for user needs that allow engagement teams flexibility to adapt tools to specific client situations; - Serve as a liaison between Deloitte Tax technical leaders and the field; - Interface with the National Tax Technology Group and Tax Knowledge Services to leverage technology in tool developmentQualifications - Certified Public Accountant or J.D., with Lead Tax Services (or similar federal tax) background in public accounting; - Mix of technology (including MS Word, Excel and Power Point) and strategic business experience; - Proven problem-solving skills; - Demonstrated experience in effectively managing multiple tasks and changing priorities in a complex business environment; - Extremely detail oriented and organized; - Ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment; - Proven self-started and the ability to work independently; - Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills; - Experienced Manager or Senior Manager level experience; and About DeloitteDeloitte refers to one or more of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss Verein, and its network of member firms, each of which is a legally separate and independent entity.
