POSITION DETAILS

We are searching for the right candidate to join our team as a Vice President of Finance for our office located in Austin, TX.

 

 Primary objectives of this position are:

§ To proactively provide financial management expertise to the operating division as well as to the corporate financial organization

§ To work proactively as a member of the Division Leadership Team and Corporate Financial Team to provide business/financial information and advice

§ To establish an effective and efficient financial organization

§ To assist/support the divisional Administrative and Human Resources functions

 

Primary responsibilities:

§ Provide financial assistance to all functional areas as needed

§ Ensure that accounting, control, audit and administrative duties are performed effectively and efficiently

§ Ensure that financial information is accurately developed, analyzed and reported to the appropriate staff members

§ Ensure that divisional financial goals are competently developed/projected

§ Manage, motivate and develop Financial and Administrative staff

§ Ensure that financial policies and procedures are adhered to

§ Provide financial advice and feedback to the Division President in a proactive manner

§ Manage information system issues and resolve problems as needed

 

Qualifications:

§ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

§ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred

§ Five years of directly related experience with a home builder

§ Attention to detail

§ Computer literate, skilled in financial software applications and Excel

 

POSITION PREFERENCES:

§ Prior Big 4 / Public Accounting experience

§ Prior experience with production home builder

§ Prior experience and understanding of system applications in one or more homebuilding software packages (i.e., SAP, Newstar, FAST, J.D. Edwards, Lloyds, etc.)
