Vice President, Mortgage Risk Analytics
Our client is a premier, diversified international financial guaranty and risk management services firm focused primarily on mortgage related products. With locations spread across the globe, our client helps companies manage risk through a broad array of products and services provided to mortgage banking, public finance, structured finance and other financial services companies. The focus of the current search is for a highly analytical, ‘quant’ professional specializing in financial modeling. This position, Vice President of Mortgage Risk Analytics, reports into the Head of Risk Analytics. T his individual will develop capital adequacy models for the mortgage banking business including rating agency models and internal economic capital models. They will also participate in other quantitative modeling efforts in Risk Analytics on an ad hoc basis. Basic Responsibilities: Must be an excellent designer of mathematical finance models. Provide capital usage and adequacy analysis using simulation and analytic models. Actively participate on the analytics team to implement, improve, project and report on capital adequacy, economic capital and portfolio modeling efforts and results for our client. Provide leadership, expert technical guidance and “hands-on” solutions for the design, development and maintenance of quantitative risk and valuation models such as:o Monte Carlo simulationo Cholesky decompositiono A copula frameworko Coherent risk allocationo Time series analysis and closed-form solutions to statistical models. Focus will be on RAROC, economic capital usage, portfolio optimization and exposure limits at all levels of the organization. Produce model documentation, provide user training on models and offer frequent assistance to model users. Required Experience The successful candidate must have at least three - five years of experience as a skilled quantitative analytics executive with expertise in the Consumer Lending or Consumer Credit industries. Strong programming skills, experience designing, not just maintaining statistical models and managing people who work with large databases Requires a Master's Degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired; PhD desired. Must possess strong business acumen and communications/presentations skills to partner with the business executives across the organization. While the preference is to have a candidate who has deep experience within mortgage banking, strong analytic/modeling executives from other consumer lending industries, such as credit card, will be strongly considered and are encouraged to apply.
