Annually, we employ more than 125,000 people and service more than 20,000 clients from 179 offices located throughout the United States, Australia and New Zealand.As Controller of Westaff, you will be responsible for the financial and accounting functions of the company, including internal and SEC financial reporting, as well as ensuring compliance with company financial and accounting policies and procedures, and creating and maintaining effective internal controls in a public environment. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller is responsible for the coordination and compilation of our Quarterly and Annual SEC filing including MD&A, footnotes and all disclosures. The Controller ensures the monthly close deadlines are timely met, account reconciliation and supporting documentation is maintained for all activities, and account analysis is performed, prepares various packages as requested, and assists in various projects as requested. The Controller will have an indirect oversight of 401(k) administration, payroll, and workers’ compensation issues. The Controller will be charged with hiring, training, motivating and supervising the accounting staff. There must be emphasis on teamwork, good communication and achieving departmental and corporate goals with a strong ability to supervise in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.Job Description:·  Coordination and compilation of financial statements and SEC filings in compliance with GAAP, SEC, creditors, or other reporting requirements.·  Review monthly closing process and ensure accurate internal financial statement presentation and reporting, in a timely manner per published period end calendar.·  Develop proactive business relationships, both internally and externallyo Internal: Audit Committee of the Board, members of the executive team, senior operations management in the field, and other key functions reporting to the CFOo External: Independent accountants, SEC, legal counsel, creditors, legal counsel·  Analyze and interpret financial data and prepare meaningful financial information for external and internal purposes. Organize and present financial information to executive management.·  Actively recommend and implement ways to improve, streamline, and automate the current systems, financial results, and accounting processes.·  Coordinate audits.·  Hire, train, motivate and supervise exempt and non-exempt accounting staff.·  Provide technical accounting expertise as required.·  Perform financial and accounting practice analysis as required.·  Audit work flow to assure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized.·  Oversee accounting procedures, internal controls and database management.·  Provide ad-hoc or special project reports as requested by CFO or other executive management.Qualifications:·  Strong corporate accounting controller skills in a multi-national business environment. Minimum of 5 years as a Controller, or similar experience, with 3 years of SEC reporting experience in a public company.·  5 years of public accounting experience with an emphasis in Audit.·  CPA/MBA Preferred.·  Highly motivated team player with solid technical accounting and multi-tasking skills.·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.·  Working knowledge of stock option accounting and FASB 123(R).·  PeopleSoft N-vision and Hyperion Essbase experience a plus.See Job Description To see all company job opportunities, click here To learn more about Westaff, visit www.westaff.com To tell a friend about this job opportunity, click here ©2006 Westaff Inc       Westaff is an Equal Opportunity Employer
