Treasury Accountant

BASIC FUNCTION:



 

Assist the treasury department in cash management duties by tracking cash balances; determining daily cash requirements; processing wire disbursements; accounting for cash activity; preparing 13-week cash forecast, and preparing management reports for monitoring working capital.





 

SCOPE:

 

Manages day-to-day operations regarding cash accounts in North America, and assist the Treasury Analyst in various other support roles.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

1. Monitors the North American bank accounts, initiating transfers of cash and determining funding for daily activity.  This includes communication with the bank regarding day to day banking issues and opening and closing accounts.

 

2. Compiles cash activity on a daily and weekly basis that is used by finance, accounting, and management.  This includes maintaining a daily tracking of cash and loan balances and anticipating daily cash needs.

 

3. Process wire transfers requests.  Check for accuracy and proper controls before processing.

 

4. Process and maintain cash journal entries.

 

5. Assist Treasury Analyst with information needed for cash forecasting, bank compliance and monitoring working capital.



ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Completes and performs other duties/tasks as may be assigned.

 

2. Tracking and obtaining signatures on professional fees to be processed for payment.





 

 

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business

 

Experience:  Three to five years of related experience.

  Additional education may be substituted for experience and vice versa.

 

Technical: Microsoft Office proficient, QAD and Hyperion helpful.

 

Working

Knowledge:  Requires good working knowledge of procedures, operating methods, and best practices; or, a combination of education and experience that develops technical capability to perform assignment with proficiency, and apply techniques and standards.
