Tax Supervisor/Manager

Duties & Responsibilities

Preparation and review of federal/state tax returns for individuals, estates & trusts, and various business entities partnership, (including S-Corp., C-Corp. and high-net-worth individuals). Work with directors and  principals on tax services including planning, research, and compliance.  Oversee, motivate and review work of tax associates. Interact with client personnel on tax return information, due dates, deadlines, and other compliance matters and keep team members informed. Handle IRS and state tax authorities correspondence. Recognize potential problem areas in projects/returns and discuss with appropriate team members. Identify and inform managers and partners of opportunities to increase and improve services provided to clients. Use technology to efficiently prepare tax returns, conduct tax research, share information with team members and provide quality client service.Participate in on-going company sponsored training as well as keeping abreast of tax code changes.



 

Skills, Knowledge & Other Requirements

5+ years of experience in federal tax compliance work in public accounting, CPA or CPA candidate preferred.  Flexible enough to handle complex assignments as well as routine tax work, both of which require hands on advanced tax experience Must be able to work independently Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills  Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships Proficient in MS Office programs, tax-preparation & write-up programs, and online tax research
