Description
QLogic, a leader in networking for storage and high performance computing (HPC), has an immediate need for a Senior Tax Manager located in our Aliso Viejo, CA world headquarters. This position reports to the Tax Director and has responsibility for the Company’s domestic tax compliance including the worldwide tax provision and FIN 48.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversees the preparation of, and review the timely and accurate completion of the Company’s annual and quarterly worldwide tax provision and deferred tax analysis, including related financial statement disclosures. You will work closely with company management, internal audit, and outside consultants in this endeavor.
2. Manages calculation of Company's FIN 48 schedules including quantifying appropriate reserves, identifying changes, coordinate computation of compounded interest on a quarterly basis, and rolling forward beginning to ending balances for all components of FIN48 including the following:
Calculation and memo roll-forward for federal and state issues
Maintaining inventory list
Prepare 10-Q and 10-K disclosures
Identifying issues/items to be addressed as they arise during the quarter
3. Supervises the preparation, and reviews, the timely filing of all federal and state tax returns, including income, franchise, sales & use, and property tax, and associated estimated tax payment requirements. Reviews provision to return calculations.
4. Management of federal and state tax audits, including income, franchise, sales & use, and property taxes.
5. Calculates tax impact of FAS 123R and other stock related issues on the Company's income tax provision and tax returns.
6. Conducts research of difficult and ambiguous tax issues. Compiles and analyzes results.
7. Provides council and advice to management in resolving tax issues.
8. Performs related and other duties as assigned.Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, or the equivalent in training and experience, and a minimum of 10 years related experience in tax required. CPA required. MBA or MBT is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of tax practices, principles, laws, and terminology.
