Tax Manager - Commercial Services

Overview: Virchow Krause's tax professionals develop a great deal of knowledge about each client to get a comprehensive picture of their entire tax situation enabling a proactive, year-round tax planning approach that maximizes efficiencies and minimizes taxes.

Our tax planning for businesses and individuals encompasses a wide range of compliance and consulting services including cost segregation, estate planning, multi-state and international tax, like-kind exchanges, business succession, recapitalizations and reorganizations, representation before tax authorities, start-up business structuring, property tax, and state and local tax (SALT).

Responsibilities: As a Manager on the Commercial Services team at Virchow, Krause and Company you’ll find an exceptional opportunity to develop professionally through exposure to all facets - planning, compliance, research, and business development—of our diverse and expanding tax practice. You will use your extensive knowledge about each one of your clients to get an in depth understanding of their entire tax situation in order to provide creative and objective guidance for proactive, year-round tax planning that will minimize client tax liabilities while complying with local, state, federal and international tax laws.
• Direct all phases of tax engagement planning and administration.
• Assist in developing and maintaining quality tax staff.
• Maintain positive relationships with key business contacts and actively develop new contacts..
• Promote efficiencies through planning and you will act as a liaison between the client and partner.
• Keep up to date on current tax laws/practices

Qualifications:

• CPA
• MST, MBT or JD or other advanced degree with an emphasis in tax is helpful but not required.
• At least 7-10 years well-rounded tax experience with commercial entities in a large national public accounting firm will provide an edge in joining this firm committed to quality client service.
• Excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize, attention to detail, and competent technical skills

Key Areas of Expertise:
• Experience with partnerships, S-Corporations and other flow through entities.
• Experience with C-Corporation
• Experience in Tax Planning with high net-worth individuals.
