Statutory Accounting Manager

One of our newest exclusive clients has an outstanding opportunity available to head up its Statutory Accounting Department.  The company offers tremendous growth potential and a fantastic environment.

 

DESCRIPTION

· Preparation and review of quarterly statutory financial statements, including the creation and recording of GAAP to Statutory adjustments, and supporting documentation

· Assist with the preparation of quarterly board reports and variance analysis

· Work with General Ledger team to ensure that the statutory accounts are prepared in line with GAAP

· Preparation of STAT reconciliations

· Identify new accounting standards affecting entities and communicate how these are to be reflected in the statutory accounts to the General Ledger team.

· Play a significant role in the preparation of statutory financial statements and related filings to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)

· Budget forecasting, ad hoc analysis, and ensuring technical information and employee communication is kept up to date

· Assist external auditors with interim and annual audit review

· Supervise team of senior and staff accountants

· Build a team of professional staff members

REQUIREMENTS:

· CPA

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting

· Extensive statutory reporting experience and advanced knowledge of statutory accounting principals

· Excellent technical, analytical, communication and project management skills.
