State and Local Tax Paraprofessional

Our State and Local Tax Practice is seeking a Paraprofessional to support the SALT team. The Paraprofessional will perform various duties in relation to sales tax return preparation, completing necessary documents and managing documentation. Job Responsibilities include: Prepare sales and use tax returns on a monthly basis, based on various forms and formats of information provided by multiple clients Ability to manipulate data and database applications Preparation of summary reports and reconciliations Ability to learn new software applications such as Vertex Sales Tax ReturnsWork under time sensitive deadlinesInteraction with Department of Revenue RepresentativesRespond to State Tax Notices in a timely fashion and document resultsAnalyzing client information to determine any questionable areas or variancesAssist with additional sales tax automation projects as neededJob Requirements: Associate’s degree required as a minimum/Bachelor’s degree preferred with comparable experienceStrong computer skills – must be proficient in Word, Excel and Access Must be good at multi-tasking and prioritizing workloadExcellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail Strong written and oral communication skills Team oriented, positive attitude, works well in a group setting but is also, self-managed Ability to work overtime as required
