Volt Services Group is currently seeking a Staff Accountant for one of our largest clients in the Pasadena area. If you are looking for growth potential or stability, this might be the job for you! Responsibilities include assistance in developing, implementing and maintaining a general accounting system. Prepares journal entries, maintains and reconciles ledger accounts. Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions. Balances books periodically and prepares profit and loss and balance sheet statements. Management of fixed assets and accounts receivable for significant customers. Implements internal controls and ensures compliance with Sarbanes Oxley. May interpret reports and records for management. Assist in completion of monthly general ledger and financial statements.Completes month-end close in an accurate and timely manner including preparation of journal entries. Reconciles balance sheet accounts. Reconciliation of bank accounts. Maintains and tracks fixed assets: tagging, disposals, additions and retirement. Reconciles assets and depreciation to General Ledger. Involvement in accounts receivable primarily related to invoicing and collections on significant projects. Assist in accounting for inventory including review of inventory transactions and BOM's and assist in physical inventory counts. Complete statutory tax filings including sales and use tax filings, property tax filings, Delaware franchise tax and other tax filings. Assists in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures. Assist in maintaining internal controls documentation, assessment and implementation. Assists with the preparation of year-end schedules for auditors. Participates in special projects as requested. Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA designation preferred. A minimum of 3 years "Big 4" and/or industry experience. Strong understanding of GAAP.Strong skills using personal computers and applications software for word processing, spreadsheet, database and networking.Strong working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and software.
