CITY/STATE: Washington, DC 20036POSITION TYPE: Full Time, EmployeeJOB CATEGORY: Accounting/Finance/InsuranceSALARY: 55,000.00 - 65,000.00 USD /year Staff Accountant - Investments/Equity     Ledgent is assisting a Montgomery County based investment fund firm in their search for a Staff Accountant.  This position will work closely with senior managment and the finance team and will be responsible for a portfolio of investments. Duties: Assists with the preparation of consolidated financial statements. Assists with the monthly and quarterly accounting close. Assists with the preparation of client prepared schedules for the external auditors for both interim and year-end review / audit work. Performs account analyses and describes variances. Manages cash flow reporting and statements Reviews expense mangement and approves for payout Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Current CPA or CPA in progress preferred. Relevant accounting experience including previous experience assisting with the preparation of financial statements. Proficient with word processing software, spreadsheet software and accounting mainframe systems. Ability to work productively in a team environment. Possess strong communication, analytical and writing skills. Ability and willingness to work under tight deadlines periodically during certain times of the year.
