Staff Accountant - General Accounting

Staff AccountantIndependently provides analysis and accurate reporting of various aspects of financial data. Independently evaluates and make recommendations to Finance Management and Internal Customers for internal controls.Principal AccountabilitiesFinancial Analysis and Reporting Independently provides regular financial analysis and reporting of assigned areas within required timelines (e.g., Business Analysis, Average Months’ Supply of Inventory) Prepares monthly journal entries to record activity in assigned accounts Provides analysis and reporting to internal customers and Senior Management Responsible for completing assigned portions of monthly reporting package for Seiko-Epson (e.g., intercompany payables and purchases) Participates in internal and external audit functions Coordinates timely and accurate reporting of Subsidiary financials for incorporation into consolidated financial statements Reconciles various general ledger accounts (e.g., MIT, purchase price variances, import bills payable, etc.) and independently resolves issues Ensures that system-generated reports and downloads for assigned areas are complete, accurate, and useful in analysis and journal entry preparation; provides recommendations for reporting enhancementsInternal Controls and Business Analysis Prepares ad hoc analysis and reporting of assigned areas to meet internal customer requirements Independently analyzes the adequacy of internal controls for financial reporting and safeguarding of assets Makes recommendations to improve internal controls and assists in implementation Subsidiary Accounting and Analysis Coordinates and produces entries to insure subsidiary activity is recorded timely and accurately Applies FAS 52 to insure proper translation of financial statements to U.S. dollars Prepares all required information and analysis required needed by management Oversees the reconciliation of inter-company balances and communicates as necessary with key contacts at EAI and the subsidiaries Assist with coordination and preparation of subsidiary budgetsPeople/Relationship Management Participates in the hiring and evaluating of team members Assigns work to Accounting Coordinator and Accounting Representative Provides coaching to team members and selected customers Builds strong relationships with peers, other departments, and Senior Management to best meet company goals and objectivesRequirements: Minimum 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience Experience with subsidiary accounting and analysis Strong communications skills Strong Excel proficiency Completion of a Bachelor's degree or Equivalent (BA or BS) Completion of CPA certification preferredApply Online Company: Epson America Location: Long Beach, CA 90806 Job Category: Accounting/Finance/Insurance Relevant Work Experience: 5+ to 7 Years Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Company: Epson America Reference Code: 08-0139
