Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. is a premier provider of marine services. Services we provide include: commercial diving, oil spill response, marine fendering, marine construction, demolition, derelict vessel removal, soil remediation, heavy marine salvage, saturation diving, containment boom manufacturing, spill response material sales, consulting, training and preventative environmental services such as pre-booming.

Working in one of Global’s staff departments, you will be at the heart of the company. These departments play a key role in supporting the Global management team. As such, you will be called on to fill a myriad of roles. These may include, but are not limited to, helping manage the processes and functions core to our operations: performance management, finance, human resources, technology management, brand management, or information technology.Whatever your role, you will be helping implement Global decisions, measure our performance, set company-wide standards and drive corporate initiatives.  You may be involved in the creation of corporate products as diverse as our annual report, our brand image or a high-quality talent pool.  Whatever the case, your activities will touch those of colleagues throughout Global, as well as customers and creditors.

The responsibilities of this role include: Assisting the Controller in accomplishing the requirements as set by the company, which will include ensuring that all accounting entries within the groups they support are timely, accurate, and comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
 Assist in completing the monthly close process and ensuring balance sheet entries and accounts are reconciled, reviewed and have appropriate supporting documentation.
 Work with the Controller to support internal/external audit, ensuring all controls are in place and any discrepancies noted are corrected or have a measurable action plan in place to correct the discrepancies.
 As directed, assisting in the preparation of the appropriate monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages, regulatory reports and internal and external audits.
 Recommend and implement process improvements.
 Performing special projects as required.
 Other duties as assigned.

Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or equivalent).Â
 Working knowledge of GAAP
 Must be a self-motivated team player with strong written and verbal skills.
 Must be detail-oriented and be eager to learn and grow.
  Excellent at multitasking
 Proficient with Excel, general software applications and typing/10-key.
 Previous experience with MAS200 or similar accounting software is a plus.
 Ability to work in a fast paced environment while satisfying customer needs and maintaining effective working relationships.
 Ability to work under pressure and achieve required deadlines.
 Ability to proactively identify issues and offer solutions.
