Career opportunities may be found at the National Support Center, located in Irving, Texas, a suburb of Dallas/Fort Worth, our National Customer Contact Center, located in Knoxville, Tennessee, or at one of our sales and service branch offices located across the United States as well as British Columbia, Canada.  Staff 2 Accountant Inventory Description:SUMMARY: Responsible for a wide range of inventory related transactions, processes, and reporting duties with interactions at all levels of management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following,* Manage the semi-annual physical inventory reconciliation and monthly cycle counting adjustments for all branch sites* Assist with the monthly closing of the general ledger, including creating and posting journal entries, preparing analytical schedules, and researching variances in inventory and cost of goods accounts * Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly* Identify and research potential policy and procedure changes to improve efficiencies and controls * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules for reporting purposes* Work with the GL team and management to ensure that information is prepared accurately and in accordance with GAAP and prepare research and documentation to ensure that accounting implications of current and prospective transactions are treated appropriately in a timely fashion* Perform special projects and other duties as assignedQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. CPA/CPA candidate preferred. A minimum of two to four years related accounting work experience. Knowledge of Great Plains Inventory and Lawson Accounting software helpful and cost accounting/inventory system implementation experience preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical manuals and procedures, financial policies and pronouncements, and government regulations. Ability to produce clear and concise reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to clearly and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups within and outside the Company.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as linear regression analysis, probability, statistical inference, fundamentals of financial analysis, solid geometry and trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Must be proficient with computers, Microsoft's Excel software, and SQL. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
