Manufacturing Accountant Job Description:
Advanced Motors & Drives located in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a Manufacturing Accountant to join their accounting department team.
Job description and requirements are listed below:
Position Summary
1. Involved with the application of principles of cost accounting to provide detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems.
2. Plans, collects and studies data to determine accurate product costs such as material purchases, labor, and overhead.
3. Establish new product cost standards including direct labor and materials. Perform review and revision of all product standards annually.
4. Develop systems to report product profitability and variances as required.
5. Assist in the company’s month-end closing process by providing journal entries and analyzing reports.
6. Analyze and interpret gross margins, cost variances, inventory movements and other accounting reports as they relate to cost.
7. Develop reporting system for the capture of actual production hours worked by employee.
Position Requirements
Education: Four-year college degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline required.
Experience: Manufacturing environment experience of 2-5 years is preferred.Advanced experience and skills with MAPICS/Infor XA is strongly desired. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
