Sr. Audit Manager

A Senior Audit Manager serves as principal contact for most engagements with the client, audit personnel, and tax departments.  He or she must understand clients’ businesses and industries, and develop and maintain strong business-to-business relationships with client decision-makers.  Sr. Audit Managers are expected to possess strong supervisory and project management skills.

 

He or she should demonstrate high performance standards, and effectively promote the improvement of technical best practices within the industry, service area and firm.  The candidate must be viewed as a leader in a specialty area or take an active leadership role in niche or service marketing efforts.

 

The Senior Audit Manager should have the ability to supervise complete engagements, develop and utilize measurement criteria that accurately measure team member performance.  Sr. Audit Managers are also responsible to identify strengths and weaknesses of team members and be able to implement mentoring and/or coaching relationships with staff and is ultimately responsible for the quality and timeliness of all work performed on assigned engagements.

 

A Senior Manager must maintain and expand a network of business contacts, and broaden his or her outside association to promote the best interests of the firm.  He or she should take an active role in professional, civic, or charitable organizations.  A Senior Manager may be called upon to initiate prospective client business development calls, and present proposals to current and prospective clients.

 

To be qualified for this position, the candidate must have earned a Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, a CPA or significant progress toward a CPA and have at least 8-10 years audit experience in a public accounting firm.
