We are presently seeking a Sr. Associate to work with one of our Houston clients.
Job Responsibilities: Integration of acquisition locations into client systems & processesTesting & reconciling of converted dataPerform account reconciliations identifying adjustments errors.Analyze and research special project assignments as they relate to reconciliations and acquisitions.Assist with system testing related upgrades or modifications Streamline, implement and train on system processesAccurate and timely completion of assigned tasks.Documentation of assigned tasks.Identify, propose and implement process and or procedure changes to gain efficiencies, strengthen controls or improve quality of information provided by department. Identification and correction of reporting errors, as needed.Assist with annual reports and audit preparation as neededResearch complex regulatory issues and handle their resolution.Ensure internal controls are adhered to.Assist supervisor in executing assigned workload.Train on and off site employees on new processes or process changesKeep supervisor informed on a consistent basis of new issues and the status of projects, tasks and deadlines.Other duties as assigned.Ability to travel (estimated travel time is less than 20% but will vary based on the project)
This position requires: Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsComputer Proficiency Ability to multi-task and to work independentlyStrong analytical and problem solving skills
Qualifications/Work Experience:
· 2-3 years of experience in accounting/financial reconciliation role.Minimum of 1 year of experience in general ledger capacity.Preferred experience in heavily regulated industry (banking or insurance)Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
