Sr. Accountant - Corporate Control & Finance

FP MAILING SOLUTIONS (Francotyp-Postalia, Inc.) global leader in the postage meter and mailing equipment industry, seeks a Senior Level Accountant at our U.S. Corporate HQ conveniently located at I-355 and Army Trail Rd. in a nice office environment.

The job description is as follows:

Summary:  Contributes to the financial success of the organization by applying principles of accounting to prepare financial reports and analyze financial information.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  ­ Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger, fixed asset, and subsidiary ledger accounts­ Reconciles various income statement and balance sheet accounts.­ Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.­ Assists with the installation, modification, documentation, and coordination of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.­ Performs analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to the business as required and on an ad hoc basis using various data.­ Collects appropriate data and prepares state and local reports and tax returns, including the supervision of the personal property tax cycle for jurisdictions throughout the US.­ Finalizes calculations of commissions and handles discrepancies.­ Assists in creation of budgets and forecasts and creates reports to help the business understand its performance.

Education/Experience:

Candidates should have five years applicable experience along with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance - or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Advanced degree and/or CPA status considered a plus. Knowledge of basics GAAP principles required.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. General Accounting software with familiarity of Fixed Asset Management is also a plus.
