Sharp Staff Accountant needed to take on a Challenging Role!

One of our clients is searching for a very bright, sharp staff accountant.  This candidate will need to be able to come in and learn a very complex accounting position.  The learning curve could be as much as six months to get up to full speed.  Our client is aware, and will be willing to train the right candidate in their procedures, and some responsibilities of the position.

This candidate needs to have "Advanced Excel Skills".  Skills such as pivot tables will be needed prior to coming on board.  We know that this narrows the field of qualified candidates, but it a required skill set for the position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

. Books the automated sales and cancellation entries at month-end.

. Books the collections journal entries for the Company's collections

and deposits.

. Books the monthly dues revenue, collections, cancellations, the

amortization of discounts, and the true-up of dues receivable, prepaid dues, and bad debt allowance.

. Books the bad debt provisioning, deferred sales, accrued interest,

and other notes receivable-related entries.

. Prepares monthly schedules for analysis by management at month-end.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access

. Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed

with objectives with little supervision

. JD Edwards experience is a plus, but not required

 

Credentials and Experience

 

. Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, If non-degreed you must offset by more experience, and almost every skill set they need prior to being hired.

 

. Two years related experience with degree, more experience without degree
