Senior Test Engineer – Berwyn, PA

 

To provide professional expertise in test scripting in manual and automated test frameworks, test execution and reporting, allowing for continuous improvement in test efficiency, test cycle times, and completeness of testing coverage. In this role, you will assume responsibility for:Development of the manual or automated test scriptsSet up and execution of the test scriptsLogging & recording of the test outcomes/resultsDaily reporting of the progress/status of the test executionAnalysis and recovery from the execution errorsMaintenance of the test scripts libraryReporting of the bugs; Verification that high priority bugs are escalated to Test Project ManagerProviding redlines of test cases to Test AnalystsRecommendation for test strategy/test approach improvementsTest metrics (coverage & defects) analysis for quality assessment

Work ExperienceMinimum 5 + years experience in application software environments5+ years in software testing in multiple environments including test planning, control, execution, and quality assessment3+ years experience in software development/scripting2+ years in technical leadership role – desired

Education & TrainingBachelor degree in a technical discipline or equivalent technical experience is required  Advanced degree is desired

Specialized Knowledge & SkillsExperience developing test scripts in manual and automated test environments is requiredExperience developing test scripts in Mercury QuickTest Pro – desiredExperience with manual and automated test execution including scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting is requiredBroad knowledge of hardware and software platforms (Windows, Unix, Linux, mainframe) is requiredExperience and success with the use of test automation toolsFundamental programming knowledge; XML knowledge (script writing and reading) is desired Ability to lead small projects and teams is preferredExperience with Python Programming Language is strongly desiredExperience with Configuration Management principles and toolsExperience with defect reporting (defect logging, tracking, analysis, and validation) including reporting and analysisDemonstrated understanding of Quality Control and Quality AssuranceDemonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. Good troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail required  Experience with complex products desiredGood time-management skills. Ability to multi-task or work on multiple projects concurrentlyIdentification, development and utilization of metrics for decision supportMentoring skills and experience is required
