Senior Tax Analyst - Federal and State Income Tax
Well known Houston Compnay has an immediate need for a Senior Tax Analyst. As a member of the Corporate Tax department, the Tax Accountant will be primarily responsible for the preparation and review of corporate income tax returns, tax accounting and special projects.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare and review U.S Federal and U.S. State corporate income tax returns, partnership tax returns, and estimated tax payments.
· Prepare and review various components of the quarterly FAS 109 and FIN 48 accruals including the calculation of book to tax differences, tax basis balance sheets, and tax account reconciliations
· Assist business units with federal and state tax issues that may arise
· Assist management with federal and state income tax audits, and quarterly external audits under the supervision of the Domestic Tax Manager
Requirements:
· College degree with a major in accounting, business administration or finance
· 5 - 7 years tax/accounting experience at least 4 of which should be in a Corporate Tax Department or Public Accounting Firm
· CPA or Masters Degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred
· Sound knowledge of federal tax laws and regulations
· Experience in the preparation of Federal corporate, partnership and other tax returns
· Corporate tax software such as CORPTAX, VERTEX or INSOURCE
· FAS 109 experience
· Highly proficient personal computer skills and technology driven
· Basic general ledger understanding
· Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Strong knowledge of the federal tax laws and regulations, accounting and related application of such
Compensation: $80,000 – $95,000 plus bonus (DOE)
