Senior Tax Accountant (State/Federal)

This position is accountable for supporting the Tax Department in all tax areas, with emphasis on state taxes, including income, sales and property taxes. Also primary responsibility involves project support and compliance work.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with accounting concentration. Masters degree in Tax a plus.
• A minimum of 3–4 years of tax experience.
• Strong technical background in state tax compliance and/or projects, including income and sales/use tax, and knowledge of federal issues.
• Strong interpersonal and team skills, self motivated with ability to work and act independently, strong knowledge of computer applications, good organization skills, strong analytical skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, both internal and external.
• Experienced with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Highly Desirabl:e

CPA certification
Working knowledge of SAP, Vertex and InSource.

Responsibilities:
• Compile information, analysis and preparation of tax information in support of assigned projects, tax returns and audits. Project areas will include state income tax, sales tax, property tax, federal income tax and other areas as needed.
• Implement, maintain and update, as appropriate, accurate systems for tax compliance, including software and policies and procedures for tax department and other affected departments.
• Assist with project planning. Includes setting appropriate goals and deadlines, establishing written project plans, regularly monitoring project status and seeing the project to final completion including recommending solutions and outlining suggested courses of action.
• Audit support, tax research and documentation, as needed.
• Keep current with regard to tax law changes and developments, including affect on the Company.
