Senior Staff Accountant - CPA

SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for monthly journal entries and supporting schedules, general ledger closing, general ledger account reconciliations, account analysis, bank reconciliations, tax filings, preparation of consolidated financial statements and monthly internal reporting packages and year-end audit assistance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Certified Public Accountant (or 2+ sections of exam passed)
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel (5+ years)
• Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP (5+ years)
• Costpoint (preferred)
• Government Contracting/DCAA regulations (preferred)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monthly/quarterly reconciliation of general ledger accounts,
• Inter-company account reconciliations,
• Monitor daily cash flow,
• Reconciliation of bank accounts,
• Assist in preparation of work papers for various audits,
• Assist in the development of accounting policies and procedures,
• Identify and provide information and ideas that would increase the performance and accuracy of accounting records,
• General ledger closing,
• Computation of indirect rates,
• Reconciliation of fixed assets along with required journal entries to record acquisitions and disposals,
• Compile and analyze monthly internal financial reports for Management,
• Assist in the implementation of accounting software and databases,
• Prepare various state and local tax compliance and reports (sales/use tax, personal property, business tax etc.),
• Preparation of monthly journal entries for prepaids and accruals,
• Other various projects as assigned.
