Senior Staff Accountant

Excellent opportunity for a degreed Accountant with lots of room for growth.  One of our clients headquartered in the Birmingham area is seeking a qualified candidate to join their accounting team.

Responsibilities include:

-Gathering  information needed from various departments to enter and update bill of materials and routings in their computer system.- Compile cost data for preparation of annual budgets including estimates for standard costing adjustments.  Update frozen standard costs yearly or as needed.--Prepare cost estimates for new products and product changes as requested.-. Assist with the calculation of labor and overhead rates to be used in standard costing.

-Analyze labor and material variances each month and prepare necessary reports. - Analyze purchase price variances each month and prepare necessary reports.

 - Reconcile inventory subsystem to G/L ledger balance monthly and prepare related journal entries and reports.

 Requirements: 2-5 years experience in cost accounting.  Bachelor degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
