So if you’re ready for WaMu, read on!Product Managers are responsible for product management, development, marketing, and strategic planning for Washington Mutual's Deposit Services business unit. They have responsibility for projects relative to both new and existing products and services through enhancements, research, pricing/fees/profitability, packaging, management implementation, analysis, reporting and performance tracking. This is a senior level position requiring a mastery of product management/development, marketing, and strategic planning in a financial services organization. Senior Product Managers provide assistance/guidance to Product Managers and assist with allocation of project assignments and prioritization of all promotional and informational programs. Senior Product Managers at this level are considered to be experts in the development and management of the most technically complex and innovative product lines/projects, or development of new products or services in which interaction with multiple divisional representatives is required. They exercise independent judgment and decision-making in the selection of new and existing products/services as well as in the interpretation of analytical findings that ultimately impact company profitability and competitiveness. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following: Assist with the determination of training requirements and needs of team members.Assist with setting the overall strategy and direction of the Product Development and Management function and development of the annual budget plan.Develop and implement policies and procedures designed to assure consistency in the development and enhancement of products and services.Manage the most complex products/projects requiring management collaboration. Interact with senior and executive management through face-to-face discussion, group presentations, written reports, and other communication vehicles.Recommend new products for development based on market needs and business goals. Develop business requirements and/or business case, develop action plans, and solicit assistance from divisional representatives in order to further research and develop appropriate products and services.Assemble and lead project teams in the creation and launch of new products and programs designed to support Washington Mutual strategies and business objectives.Recommend appropriate pricing strategies for new and existing products and services while maintaining an awareness of corporate income and profitability goals. Identify potential opportunities for segment developments based on thorough examination of market product segments.Select appropriate product sales points and customer segments for communication to retail and operations staff. Certified Treasury Professional (CTP or CCM) Accreditation or 5 years Treasury Management Product experience Bachelor's degree preferred 2+ years banking experience preferredWashington Mutual is an equal opportunity employer.
